LG has some big plans for its television lineup at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The company has announced that it plans to debut an 84-inch high-definition 3D television set that features four times the pixel density of 1080p HDTVs. Also known as 4K resolution, LG’s 84-inch HDTV can display eight million pixels at a resolution of 3840-by-2160.

LG claims its 4K set is the world’s largest 3D Ultra Definition (UD) TV. The electronics maker did not announce pricing or availability or whether the 4K HDTV is still in its prototype phase. LG originally debuted an 84-inch 3D UD TV during CES 2011, according to CNET UK.
