Wall Street 2 is Coming. I Love it Already!

Wall Street, the movie (released in 1987) Oliver Stone’s powerful narrative on the sleazy shenanigans of the Wall Street money machine. Who will forget the famous three words from this movie’s lead character Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) “Greed is good?”

This phrase has echoed in the money halls of Wall Street and around the world. In the movie, Gekko was a bad guy and he went from wearing designer suits to jump suits in jail. In real world, thousands of Gekkos are still fleecing the average public with their corrupt practices.

I loved Wall Street, the movie. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend this movie.  Here is a memorable quote from that movie:

Gekko: The richest one percent of this country owns half our country’s wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It’s bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price per paper clip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it. Now you’re not naive enough to think we’re living in a democracy, are you buddy? It’s the free market. And you’re a part of it. You’ve got that killer instinct. Stick around pal, I’ve still got a lot to teach you.

Wall Street 2will be released soon. It has a memorable quote already

Gekko (after releasing from jail): Someone reminded me that I once said, “Greed is good,” now it seems legal.

The following videos are classics, which give you a review of the old movie.  Also, you have a preview (Trailer) of Wall Street 2, the movie. [I will add more to the playlist later.]

Enjoy.
