Volvo’s Pedestrian Detection and Avoidance System

Volvo is coming up with a pedestrian detection system and avoidance system which avoids the accidents involving pedestrians. The cool thing about this system is that the car will stop if the driver fails to detect a pedestrian in front. Volvos are known as “TANKS” for providing safety to the occupants. They pioneered the seat belt and collision systems years back. Now they want to provide safety to the folks walking on the street with this cool life saving feature .

Watch the trial video

And watch the implementation of it.

Makes me wonder what kind of industry it is. Toyota’s is having issues related to unexpected acceleration and Volvo’s is coming up expected breaking.
