Mohana Muralee GaanaLahari Editorial Policy (restored)

I have been conducting Mohana Muralee GaanaLahari since February 9, 2009. I was pretty much able to avoid any controversy on many controversial subjects I discussed. 30 years ago, 10 years ago, 3 years ago and even today, my stance on the Telangana issue is clear:  I am for a united state for all Telugu people. Still, I avoided discussion on Telangana because of its divisive nature. Given the current climate, it is cowardice and even stupid not to talk about this hot-bed issue. Not surprisingly, in the last 6 weeks the MMGL show was dominated by discussion on Telangana.

I do not need to explain my policy to my long-term listeners. Not because they all agree with me, but because they know me. They know that I am consistent and they know where I am coming from.  But if you started listening to me only recently, you should know more about me and my editorial policy is. You may also want to know more about me from the post: Who is this Mohana Murali?

  1. Reginald garu,

I am flattered. Absolutely flattered. mulaga chettekkinchesaaru.

I studied 8-10 at Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai High School in Repalle, which is very close to Uppudi. Second batch.

It really is a small world, after all.

  2. Murali Garu,

It is a disappointment that we lost all the comments. Well, we can start again.

Why do people like listening to you? Perhaps the straight forward way you talk combined with fearlessness to express what you believe without applying any butter. It is something that everyone wants to do but cannot because it is so risky.

I am intrigued with this social movement of Telugu internet users who are coming online and are able to express their views and opinions. I see it as a social movement brought on by the power of the internet that has given the telugu, educated, middle class a platform.

I have seen many commercial telugu sites but my first exposure to internet radio was when I listened to you on my iphone. I am really excited about this. You are a major contributor or even a founding leader, perhaps unconsciously, to something that will be a big chapter in telugu history as telugu diaspora search for their own identity in the various countries of the world.

My mother is from Bapatla. My father is from Rajahmundry. I am from Hyderabad, settled in Chicago. I also worked in Uppudi, a small village near Repalle. Thanks.
