I am totally confused about my next camera. I have a four year old Canon S3 a 6 MP, but the aperture (2.7 – 3.5) is great. The camera is amazing. I am undecided between Canon Rebel, G11, Nikon D80 and the very new Nikon P700
And the photos are good.
if you want point and shoot, I highly recommend Canon S95. Its new release and the link here is for review on S90

But, i think the difference between two is HD Video recording. You should consider the weight and bulky feeling. Nikon D80 is very old camera andi.
