As I watched the video, I got goosebumps and had to fight back tears. The last time this has happened to me in the past was when Ghazal garu sang his famous patriotic telugu song “Oyi Teluguvada” in New Jersey. That audio is also on youtube, but nothing like listening to him singing live.

Year 2010 has been quite productive in terms of accomplishments. Along with the help of my fellow integrationist friends, we have:

• Submitted a solid report to the Srikrishna Committee arguing against the division of the state. The statistical evidence we presented to the committee was comprehensive and compelling. We are already seeing snippets of our arguments in the SKC report that is being leaked to the media.
• Presented our case in the electronic media on many telugu TV channels.
• Written editorials in leading telugu news papers in support of the integrationist message and countering the false propaganda of separatists.
• Released the Telugu version of my book My Telugu Roots in A.P., titled Mana Telugu Talli and extensively distributed the books to leaders and media organizations.
• Conducted state formation day celebrations in six cities across the United States. I hope these events acted as an inspiration for those living in our state.
• Lobbied leaders across the party lines to fight harder for the integrationist cause.

Though we’ve accomplished a great deal in 2010, I have to admit that our efforts lag behind the activities being conducted by the separatists. Integrationist message has not gone into the masses. Integrationist leaders in our state have failed to build a unity platform. If you are an integrationist living in Andhra Pradesh, there is no credible organization that you can associate with. In the Nizam region, separatists are continuing to push their message of hate and are succeeding in poisoning people’s minds.

I hope 2011 will be a year when the integrationist message of unity and peace will prevail. I am absolutely confident that Srikrishna Committee will not find evidence of discrimination against any of the three regions. This should give the Central Government maneuvering room to back-off from their original stance in support of division. Therefore, our singular focus in the New Year should be all about getting the truth out into masses that corruption, under development, and poverty are not a result of discrimination but are a result of bad governance.

On the personal front, I am relocating to India this month with my family. Moving back to India for our children’s education and to be close to our parents has been our plan for many years. Saying that, I did contemplate quitting work and dedicating my time to the integrationist cause for a year or two. However, all the activities we conducted this year made me realize that raising funds is a significant challenge. I therefore decided to continue to work out of India, as it will enable me to support the Samaikyandhra efforts for 2011- at least initially.

I would like to take this opportunity to solicit your advice on what we can do in 2011 to fight against separatism. I am particularly interested in your ideas about ways in which we can influence the people of Nizam region. If you prefer to meet me in person in Hyderabad, please shoot me a note.

2011 is going to be a crucial year. Don’t leave it up to political leaders, the fate of our culture, our history, and our heritage, which are second to none. Let us all do our bit and fight the separatist propaganda machine in our own small ways. Let us make Rudramadevi, Krishnadevarayalu, Venkatappayya, Potti Sriramulu, Ravi Narayan Reddy, Burugula and many more of our ancestors proud with our FEARLESS commitment to the cause of unity.

తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర సమితి (తెరాస) అధ్యక్షుడు కె. చంద్రశేఖర రావు మరోసారి నోరు పారేసుకున్నారు. తెలంగాణకు రెడ్లే ద్రోహం చేశారని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. ఆంధ్ర, రాయలసీమ ప్రాంతాలకు చెందిన రెండ్లు తెలంగాణకు చెందిన బ్రాహ్మణ, రెడ్డి నాయకుల్లో అవిశ్వాసాన్ని పెంచారు. దీంతో తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్ర విలీనానికి వారు అంగీకరించారని ఓ చారిత్రక విశ్లేషణ చేశారు. ఇప్పుడు కూడా ఆ వర్గానికి చెందినవారే సమైక్యాంధ్ర నినాదానికి పురుడు పోశారని ఆయన మండిపడ్డారు. ఆంధ్ర, రాయలసీమ రెడ్లు తెలంగాణ, ఆంధ్ర ప్రాంతాల విలీనానికి 1950ల్లో కుట్ర చేశారని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. హైదరాబాదులోని రెడ్డి హాస్టల్లో మకాం వేసిన మాజీ రాష్టపతి నీలం సంజీవరెడ్డి తెలంగాణ రెడ్లను, బ్రాహ్మణులను విడగొట్టి తెలంగాణకు ద్రోహం తలపెట్టారని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. ఆ రకంగా నీలం సంజీవరెడ్డితో పాటు రాయలసీమ, ఆంధ్రకు చెందిన రెడ్లు బ్రాహ్మణ, రెడ్ల మధ్య విభేదాలను సృష్టించారని, దాంతో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ అవతరణ సాకారం చేసుకున్నారని ఆయన విమర్శించారు.

ఇతగాడు తన స్వార్ధం కోసం ప్రజలను ఎన్ని విధాలుగా నైన చీల్చగల సామర్ధ్యం వున్న ఉన్మాది, చీడపురుగు!

Ladies and gentlemen,

TRS may have won the by-elections by spreading misinformation and lies, stoking the emotions and by orchestrating hate against people of Rayalaseema and coastal districts. Spineless leaders of major political parties played into the hands of TRS rhetoric and handed them a victory. All this proved only the obvious -- people are sheep.

TeluGlobe’s contributor and a leading voice for united Andhra Pradesh, Mr Chakravarthy Nalamotu and his family are being harassed by separatist elements for quite some time. The latest news is that Chakravarthy was mobbed today by TRS goondas at a book release ceremony in Hyderabad. I just spoke with Mrs. Chakravarthy and he is doing fine.

I am awaiting more details about the story before I can say more. For now, all I want to say about this incident is this: You can’t spell ‘terrorist’ without T.R.S.

Please join me in expressing solidarity with Chakravarthy garu. Whether you are for United Andhra Pradesh or a Telangana activist, I do not believe you are pro-hate or anti-democratic person. Even if you are not willing to express solidarity for Chakravarthy, the least you can do is to condemn this incident.

Yet, the Home Minister of one of the most powerful countries in the world, yielded to a man who was on a phony fast and was not in any imminent health danger and who in fact was eager to give up his fast even if the central government winked at him.

Instead of diffusing the crisis in A.P., what did our esteemed Home Minister do? He found an opportune moment when two senior most leaders Manmohan Singh and Pranab Mukherjee, known for their prudence and wisdom, were out of the country. On December 9^th he pressured Sonia Gandhi, despite her reservations about a hasty decision being forced on her in the middle of the night, that unless she agrees to split the State, Andhra Pradesh will go up in flames. The intelligence report allegedly sent by the State authorities sympathetic to separatists came in handy to impress upon her.

In 1937 C. Rajagopalachari became the Chief Minister of Madras. He skillfully managed to divide Telugus by giving the ministerial posts to Kosta telugus and none to Rayalaseema leaders. It took a great deal of effort and signing of Sribagh pact to undo the damage done to Telugu unity by Rajagopalachari. In 1949 as Governor General, Rajagopalachari visited Hyderabad and publicly stated that he is opposed to the division of Hyderabad State, which re-energized Telugus to fight for Vishalandhra. Later on in December 1952, after Potti Sriramulu’s death, Justice Wachoo recommended making Madras the temporary capital of Telugus. Rajagopalachari threatened Nehru with his resignation and ensured that Madras was robbed from us.

Home Minister Chidambaram, like C. Rajagopalachari, is playing a spoil sport with Telugus. In an article written for Indian Express May 18, 2003, Chidambaram wrote: “In my view, there is a strong case for the creation of…Telangana (out of Andhra Pradesh, population 7.57 crore).”

While Andhra Pradesh is the 5^th largest State in India, Tamilnadu happens to be the 6^th largest State in the country with over 6 crores population. Yet, when PMK leader Ramadoss, in light of Chidambaram’s December 9^th announcement to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, demanded similar bifurcation of Tamilnadu, Home Minister termed the demand as “meaningless and absurd” and said that the idea should be nipped in the bud.

When it came to division of his home State, the Home Minister reacted emotionally almost in a knee-jerk fashion. Yet when it came to Andhra Pradesh he took advantage of every excuse to enable the division of Telugu people. He didn’t even bother to consult the cabinet, the parliament, nor the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly before eagerly and unilaterally announcing the decision to divide the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Chidambaram’s follies are not confined to Andhra Pradesh. Under his leadership Naxals are going on a rampage. Media has been idolizing Chidambaram as a Sardar Patel’s reincarnation. Looks like that got into our Home Minister’s head.

Our Patel wannabe Home Minister started “Operation Green Hunt” on Naxalites. He rolled in Central Reserve Police Force and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action against Naxals. What are the results of his high-profile offensive so far? 25 policemen killed in West Bengal, 76 CRPF and policemen killed in an ambush in Dantewada Chattisgarh, and another 26 CRPF men killed this week in Narayanpur district in Chattisgarh.

Home Minister Chidambaram should learn a lesson or two from late YSR. Andhra Pradesh was one of the worst Naxal affected States in the country. YSR didn’t indulge in any major “operations” or threatened to bring aircrafts to tackle Naxalites. He initiated developmental activities in Naxal infested areas. He strengthened the intelligence network, and empowered the police to do their job. This has effectively halted Naxal menace in the state. YSR didn’t make tall claims, nor held weekly press conferences, nor did he ever celebrate victory over Naxals.

If this is not enough, it is widely believed that the Home Minister played a chief role in the recent conflict between Manipur and Nagaland, wherein Nagas have blocked NH 39 and NH53 access for 65 days. This effectively denied the rest of the North Eastern States basic commodities like fuel, baby food, and medicine. It is widely believed that it is the Home Minister who opened the North East’s pandora’s box.

Home Minister Chidambaram during his brief stint has done enough damage to our nation through his actions. Under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh in the South, Kashmir in the North, and Nagaland, Manipur in the North East have gone up in flames. I hope the leadership of this country will wake up from its slumber and relieve Chidambaram from his public duties.
