కిషన్ యాత్రతో బీజేపీకి మంచి రోజులు ?

తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమం ఉవ్వెత్తున ఎగిసి ఎందుకు చప్పబడిపోయింది. ఏకారణాలవల్ల తెలంగాణ సాధన పోరు చల్లారిపోయింది ? ఈ ప్రశ్నే తరచూ వినబడుతోంది. సరిగా ఈ పరిణామాన్నే తనకు అనుకూలంగా ఉపయోగించుకోవాలనుకుంటోంది భారతీయ జనతాపార్టీ. అందుకే బీజేపీ తెలంగాణ పోరుయాత్ర మొదలుపెట్టింది. తెలంగాణ సాధన భారతీయ జనాతాపార్టీకే సాధ్యమంటూ ఆ పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు కిషన్ రెడ్డి అంటున్నారు.
ఇంతకీ బీజేపీ పోరు యాత్ర ఎలా సాగుతుందో తెలుసుకుందాం… పార్లమెంట్ బడ్జెట్ సమావేశాల్లోనే తెలంగాణ బిల్లు ప్రవేశపెట్టాలని డిమాండ్ చేస్తూ కిషన్ రెడ్డి తలపెట్టిన యాత్ర ఇది. గురువారం మక్తల్ లో బహిరంగ సభలో లాంఛనంగా ప్రారంభైన ఈ యాత్ర రంగారెడ్డి, మెదక్, నిజామాబాద్, కరీంనగర్, వరంగల్, నల్గొండ, ఖమ్మం జిల్లాల మీదగా మొత్తం ఇరవైరెండు రోజులపాటు మూడువేల ఆరువందల కిలోమీటర్ల మేరకు సాగుతోందని చెబ్తున్నారు. వచ్చే నెల తొమ్మిదిన ఈ యాత్ర ముగుస్తుంది. ఈలోగా ఎనభైఎనిమిది అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాల్లోని నాలుగు వందల మండలాల్లోని తొమ్మదివేల గ్రామాలను ఈ యాత్ర చుట్టుమడుతుంది. ఈ యాత్ర సవ్యంగా సాగితే, కచ్చితంగా తెలంగాణ ప్రజల మనోభావాలేమిటో కేంద్ర సర్కారుకు తెలిసొస్తాయని కచ్చితంగా చెప్పవచ్చు. తెలంగాణ రాక సంగతి ఎలా ఉన్నా, రాష్ట్రంలో బీజేపీ ఓ బలమైన రాజకీయ శక్తిగా ఎదగడానికి ఈ యాత్ర దోహదపడుతుందనే అనుకోవాలి. పందొమ్మిదివందల తొంభైఎనిమిది ప్రాంతంలో తెలంగాణ లో గట్టిపట్టు ఉన్న బీజేపీ ఆ తర్వాత క్రమంగా బలహీనపడింది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో బీజేపీ రాజకీయ పరిపుష్టతకు ఈ యాత్ర దోహదబడుతుందనే చెప్పాలి.

శాసన సభలో సమావేశాలు జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు మాత్రమే తరచూ దాని గురించి వార్తలు వస్తుంటాయి.
అయితే, ఇప్పుడు పరిస్థితి అలా లేదు. మొన్నటి శీతాకాల సమావేశాలు ముగిసినా అసెంబ్లీ చుట్టూనే
వార్తలు తిరుగుతున్నాయి. ఒక్క మాటలో చెప్పాలంటే, కీలకమైన రాజకీయ పరిణామాలకు అసెంబ్లీ కేంద్ర బిందువు
అవుతోంది.
 ఇక్కడ మరో ఆసక్తికరమైన విషయం ప్రస్తావిస్తాను. మన రాజ్యాంగంలోని పదో షెడ్యూల్లోని కీలక అంశాలన్నింటినీ
ఏకకాలంలో ఉపయోగించుకుంటున్నది ఎక్కడో తెలుసా.. మన రాష్ట్రంలోనే. రాజ్యాంగంలోని పదో షెడ్యూల్ కిందనే
పార్టీ ఫిరాయింపుల నిరోధక చట్టం ఉంది. ఎమ్మెల్యేల సభ్యత్వాలను రద్దుకు సంబంధించిన ప్రధానాంశాలు కూడా
ఈ షెడ్యూల్ కిందనే ఉన్నాయి. భవిష్యత్తులో ఏ తరహా ఇబ్బందులు ఎదరవడానికి వీలుందో వాటన్నింటినీ
ముందుగానే ఊహించి మన రాజ్యాంగ నిర్మాతలు ఈ షెడ్యూల్ ని పొందుపరిచారు.. ఇప్పుడది మన రాష్ట్రానికి
అతికినట్టు సరిపోతోంది. ఈ షెడ్యూల్ లోని నిబంధనలు తరచిచూస్తే చాలు సమస్యకు పరష్కారం దొరుకుతుంది .
ఇందులో ఉన్న ఇతర అంశాలు...

పార్టీల విలీనం
విలీనానికి అంగీకరించని సభ్యుల భవితవ్యం
స్వతంత్ర్య అభ్యర్థులుగా ఎన్నికై, అనుబంధ సభ్యులుగా కొనసాగేవారు.
పార్టీ ఆదేశాలను అతిక్రమించేవారు.
పార్టీ విప్ ను ధిక్కరించేవారు
స్వచ్ఛందంగా పదవులు త్యజించేవారు..

 విఫ్ ని దిక్కరించినా పార్టీలు క్షమించడం...ఇలాంటి అంశాలన్నీ మన రాజ్యంగ నిపుణులు ఏనాడో ప్రస్తావించడం
గమనార్హం. ఇక్కడే ఇంకో మాట ప్రస్తావిస్తాను... పదో షెడ్యూల్ లోని ఈ అంశాలన్నీ ఈ మధ్య రాష్ట్ర అసెంబ్లీ
శీతాకాల సమావేశాల్లోనే చోటుచేసుకోవడం. మరో ఆసక్తికరమైన విషయం ఏమిటంటే, ప్రస్తుతం నడుస్తున్న పదమూడవ
శాసనసభ గురించి వచ్చిన, వస్తున్న వార్తలు గతంలోని పన్నెండు శాసనసభల కాలంలో రాలేదు. అసలు, పద్దెనిమిది
మంది ఎమ్మెల్యేలు. ముగ్గురు ఎమ్మెల్సీల సభ్యత్వాల రద్దు విషయం ఒకేసారి విచారణకు రావడం కూడా ఓ అరుదైన
ఘటనే. వీరిలో పదహారుమంది ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ముగ్గురు ఎమ్మెల్సీలు అధికార కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి చెందినవారే కావడం
గమనార్హం. కాగా, పీఆర్పీ నుంచి శోభానాగిరెడ్డి, టీడీపీ నుంచి బాలనాగిరెడ్డి అనర్హత విచారణ ఎదుర్కుంటున్నారు.
 ప్రజారాజ్యం పరిస్థితి ఏమిటంటే, ఆ పార్టీ కాంగ్రెస్ లో అధికారికంగా విలీనం అయింది.  ఎన్నికల కమిషన్ రూల్స్
ప్రకారం చూస్తే ప్రజారాజ్యం పార్టీ ఇప్పుడు లేనట్టే. అయితే, అసెంబ్లీలో మాత్రం పీఆర్పీ ఉనికి అలాగే ఉంది.
ఎందుకంటే, శాసనసభ నిబంధనావళి ప్రకారం చూస్తే, విలీన ప్రక్రియ పూర్తి కాలేదు. ఈలోగానే అసెంబ్లీలో మొన్న
అవిశ్వాస తీర్మానం వచ్చేసింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఓటు వేయాల్సి వచ్చినప్పుడు పీఆర్పీగానే ఆ పార్టీ సభ్యులను
గుణించాల్సి వచ్చింది. అందుకే పీఆర్పీ కూడా అవిశ్వాసం తీర్మానం ప్రవేశపెట్టిన  సమయంలో తన పార్టీ సభ్యులకు
పీఆర్పీ విఫ్ జారీచేసింది. ఈ కారణంగానే ఎమ్మెల్యే శోభానాగిరెడ్డి సభ్యత్వాన్ని రద్దుకు ఆ పార్టీ ముందుకు వచ్చింది.
విఫ్ ను దిక్కరించినందుకు వేటు వేయాలంటూ స్పీకర్ ను కోరింది.
 ఈ పరిణామాలు రాజ్యాంగంలోని పదోషెడ్యూల్ సూచించిన నిబంధనలను మరోసారి చాటిచెప్పినట్టే అయింది.
ఒక విషయం తేటతెల్లమైంది. శాసనసభ వెలుపల పార్టీ మరో పార్టీలో విలీనమైనంత మాత్రాన ప్రక్రియ పూర్తి
అయినట్టుకాదు. విలీనమైన పార్టీ ఈ మేరకు స్పీకర్ కు లేఖ రాయాలి. స్పీకర్ తగిన ఆధారాలను పరిశీలించి
శాసనసభ్యుల అభిప్రాయాలు తెలుసుకుంటారు. అప్పుడెవరైనా విలీన ప్రక్రియను వ్యతిరేకిస్తే వారిని వేరుగా గుర్తించే
అవకాశాలుంటాయి. అనంతరం విలీన ప్రక్రియ పూర్తయినట్టు ప్రకటిస్తారు. అప్పుడే విలీనమైన పార్టీ, కలుపుకున్న
పార్టీ సభ్యులు కలిసి అసెంబ్లీలో ఒకే చోట కోర్చోవడానికి వీలవుతుంది.
 మొత్తానికి రాష్ట్ర శాసనసభ ఔన్నత్యాన్ని కాపాడేలా స్పీకర్ నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకుంటారని ఆశిద్దాం.

I have a lot of favorite songs -- written by Pingali, Samudrala, Athreya, Arudra, SriSri, Ci Na Re, Veetoori, Veturi, Gopi, Sirivennela and Jaladi. For the past 30+ years, if you asked me what is my all time favorite song in Telugu, I would have said ‘Yaathamesi thodinaa yeru endadu…” by Jaladi.

Jaladi is no more. R.I.P. Jaladi garu. I will play a special tribute to him on my show today (Oct 14, 2011).

Most people know Jaladi for his patriotic song in Major Chandrakanth -- Punyabhoomi naadesam, which I love.

But, I think this song about man-woman dynamic and humanity is his best.

I woke up to reading two pieces of sad news. One the act of mother nature and the other by a few mad men under the Separate Telangana banner. Japan’s epic 8.9 earthquake is utterly devastating. There is nothing much one could do about this mother nature’s event.

On the other hand, in Andhra Pradesh, insanity reached new heights. Sixteen statues of great Telugu personalities were destroyed.

శిలలపై శిల్పాలు చెక్కినారు
మనవాళ్ళు సృష్టికే అందాలు తెచ్చినారు

…ఈనాడు మారిపోయింది అంతా -

కోదండరామా, “million march” సఫలీకృతం అయిందని హర్షిస్తున్నానన్నావు. కేవలం ఫుట్ నోట్ గా Tankbund మీది విధ్వంసక చర్యలను ఖండిస్తున్నానంటావా?? ఈ “ఖండించడానికి” అర్ధం ఏమిటో చెబుతారా “ప్రొఫెసర్” గారు. చాల రోజులుగా కెసిఆర్, నువ్వు తదితర JAC నాయకత్వం ద్వేషాన్ని రెచ్చగొట్టారు, కొడుతూనే వున్నారు. మీరు చెప్పిన అబద్ధాలకు విరుగుడు గా చాల నిజాలు బైట పడ్డాయి. ఆ అబద్ధాల పునాదులు పెగిలాక ఇలాంటి ఉన్మత్త చర్యల వల్ల, రోజు రోజుకు మీ ‘ఉద్యమం’ మీద నిరసన పెరుగుతుందే కాని ఆ ఉద్యమం మీద సానుభూతి పెరగదు. ఒక్కటి తెలుసుకో -- నీవు నీ గూండాలు ఈ విధ్వంస చర్యతో ఎవరికోసం పోరాడుతున్నామంటున్నారో, మీరు ఆ తెలంగాణా ప్రజల పరువే కాదు, ఏకంగా తెలుగువారి పరువే తీసారు. ఐకమత్యం లేని జాతి మన తెలుగు జాతి అని ఆ శిలాతునకలతోనే నిరూపించారు.

అప్పుడప్పుడు చూస్తూ వుంటాను -- నిన్ను గాంధీ తో పోల్చడం. అలాంటి అపోహలేమి పెట్టుకోకు. నరనరాన ద్వేషం నిపుకున్న నీవు నీ చంచాలు నిన్ను ఒక అహింసా వాదిగా చిత్రీకరించడం కన్నా అహింసా సిద్ధాంతానికి అవహేళన లేదు. నువ్వు ‘గాంధి’వి కావు కాదు. గంధేవి. నీవు, నీ నాయకత్వం నిజంగా ఈ హింసాయుత చర్యలను నిరసిస్తే, ఈ ఊరకుక్కలు కరవడం ఆపేవరకు ఉద్యమాన్ని నిలిపే పిలుపునివ్వు.
గాంధి చౌరీ చురా పోలీసు స్టేషన్ దుర్ఘటనతో మొత్తం ఉద్యమాన్నే ఆపివేసే పిలుపునిచ్చాడు. ఆయన అంటే అపారమైన గౌరవం ఉన్న ప్రజలు ఆయన మాట విన్నారు. ఇప్పుడు పరిస్థితులు మీ చేతులు దాటిపోయాయి. నువ్వు ఇప్పుడు ఆపమంటే నీ మాట విని ఈ మూర్ఖులు తమ విధ్వంస చర్యలను ఆపుతారు అని నాకు నమ్మకం లేదు. నీవు రెచ్చగొట్టిన ఉన్మాదులు ఇప్పుడు నీ మాట వినరు. కాని కొంచెమైన నీ క్రెడిబిలిటీ నిలబెట్టుకోవాలంటే నామ మాత్రంగా ‘ఖండించ’డమే కాక హింసా పూరితమైన తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమంలో నీవు భాగస్వామి కాలేవని చెప్పి తప్పుకో.

కోదండరామా -- నువ్వు ఒక ప్రొఫెసర్ అని చెప్పాలంటే అది అధ్యాపక వృత్తికే కళంకం
నువ్వు ఒక తెలుగువాడివి అని చెప్పుకోవాలంటే అది తెలుగు వాళ్ళకే అవమానం.

In this news, EENAADU is condemning the attack on media. Huh! What about the symbols of our culture and heritage?
ఇల్లు కాలి ఒకడు ఏడిస్తే ఇంకొటేదో కాలి ఇంకొకడు ఏడ్చాడట.

This story is amazing in many ways. I don’t know what Venkateswarlu studied, but he is a wonderful human being. And a very very intelligent and articulate man.

Listen to the polished nature of his talk. Pay attention to his memory power. What an eloquence. What a humility!

Bravo -- hats off to you -- Venkateswarlu garu. And I saw this Sumalatha’s show for the first time. It is in so many ways better than some of the ‘talk’ shows on Telugu TV which I saw.

Flawless Execution of Divide and Rule

I rarely talk about Andhra Pradesh politics as my knowledge of current political affairs in AP is fairly limited. I cannot help but comment on the merger of Cong-I and PRP.

Back in March/April of 2009, prior to the election, I commented that the single biggest mistake one would do is to vote for Praja Rajyam Party. A few people scolded me for that ‘partisan’ comment.

That strong statement was based on a ‘reliable’ information from people in the know. The birth of Praja Rajyam was the handiwork YSR’s Cong-I. When it comes to executing divide and rule strategy flawlessly, Cong-I takes the cake. They could win in two elections by very effectively splitting TDP votes with the help of two pawns: Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga and Chiranjeevi.

The first act was in the 80s and it left wounds that would never heal between two communities. I wonder where this second act takes us.

I must admit -- this is political genius!

ఎలెక్షన్ సమయం లో తిరుపతి లో చిరు డబ్బులతో దొరికాడని ఇంకో చిన్న డ్రామా… వారి గూడుపుఠాణీ ఎవరికీ తెలియరాదని…

వోట్లు చీలుతాయని అది కాంగ్రెస్ కు ఉపకరిస్తుందని వై యెస్ ఎలెక్షన్ ముందే ఢంకా బజాయించి చెప్పాడు.. అందరికీ ’ ప్రగల్భాలు ‘ అనిపించేలా…

ఎలెక్షన్ అయ్యాక , ఫలితాలు అనుకున్నట్లుగానే వచ్చాయి… అందరూ వై యెస్ ’ దూరదృష్టి ‘ ని బలే మెచ్చుకున్నారు.. తర్వాత దోపిడీ మొదలైంది..చిరు ని కాంగ్రెస్ లో అప్పట్లోనే చేర్చుకుంటే ‘ మరీ ‘ బాగుండదని , కాస్త వేచి చూశారు…కానీ అనుకోకుండా ( ?) వై యెస్ మరణించారు.

న్యాయం గా అయితే, చిరు ఇప్పుడు జగన్ తో జట్టు కట్టాలి… కానీ అసలు సంగతి తెలుస్తుందని ఒక శంకతోనూ , ఒకే దెబ్బకి రెండు పిట్టల్లాగా కాంగ్రెస్ ని బలహీన పరచి , ఇంకా వోట్లు చీల్చాలని , అటు జగన్ బయటికి , ఇటు చిరు లోపలికి వచ్చారు.

మధ్యలో కొందరు ‘ మేధావుల ‘ తో ఆడుకున్నారు.

ఇంతవరకు చిరు కు ముట్టింది ఎంతో ? ఇక ముందు ఎంతో ? జగన్ పార్టీ లోకి ఎప్పుడు చేరతారో ? ఇవి కాలమే చెబుతుంది….

Taking stock of 2010 & Plans for 2011

I would like to wish you all a Very Happy New Year.

Year 2010 has been quite productive in terms of accomplishments. Along with the help of my fellow integrationist friends, we have:

• Submitted a solid report to the Srikrishna Committee arguing against the division of the state. The statistical evidence we presented to the committee was comprehensive and compelling. We are already seeing snippets of our arguments in the SKC report that is being leaked to the media.
• Presented our case in the electronic media on many telugu TV channels.
• Written editorials in leading telugu news papers in support of the integrationist message and countering the false propaganda of separatists.
• Released the Telugu version of my book My Telugu Roots in A.P., titled Mana Telugu Talli and extensively distributed the books to leaders and media organizations.
• Conducted state formation day celebrations in six cities across the United States. I hope these events acted as an inspiration for those living in our state.
• Lobbied leaders across the party lines to fight harder for the integrationist cause.

Though we’ve accomplished a great deal in 2010, I have to admit that our efforts lag behind the activities being conducted by the separatists. Integrationist message has not gone into the masses. Integrationist leaders in our state have failed to build a unity platform. If you are an integrationist living in Andhra Pradesh, there is no credible organization that you can associate with. In the Nizam region, separatists are continuing to push their message of hate and are succeeding in poisoning people’s minds.

I hope 2011 will be a year when the integrationist message of unity and peace will prevail. I am absolutely confident that Srikrishna Committee will not find evidence of discrimination against any of the three regions. This should give the Central Government maneuvering room to back-off from their original stance in support of division. Therefore, our singular focus in the New Year should be all about getting the truth out into masses that corruption, under development, and poverty are not a result of discrimination but are a result of bad governance.

On the personal front, I am relocating to India this month with my family. Moving back to India for our children’s education and to be close to our parents has been our plan for many years. Saying that, I did contemplate quitting work and dedicating my time to the integrationist cause for a year or two. However, all the activities we conducted this year made me realize that raising funds is a significant challenge. I therefore decided to continue to work out of India, as it will enable me to support the Samaikyandhra efforts for 2011- at least initially.

I would like to take this opportunity to solicit your advice on what we can do in 2011 to fight against separatism. I am particularly interested in your ideas about ways in which we can influence the people of Nizam region. If you prefer to meet me in person in Hyderabad, please shoot me a note.

2011 is going to be a crucial year. Don’t leave it up to political leaders, the fate of our culture, our history, and our heritage, which are second to none. Let us all do our bit and fight the separatist propaganda machine in our own small ways. Let us make Rudramadevi, Krishnadevarayalu, Venkatappayya, Potti Sriramulu, Ravi Narayan Reddy, Burugula and many more of our ancestors proud with our FEARLESS commitment to the cause of unity.

రెండువేల పదకొండవ ఆంగ్ల సంవత్సరారంభానికి, భిన్నత్వం కోసం, అందరికీ తెలుగులో “నూతన సంవత్సర శుభాకాంక్షలు.”

పంచ ‘కట్టు’తో ఈ వేషం వేసుకోవాలని నా చిరకాల కోరిక. నా పెళ్ళికి కుదరలేదు. తమ్ముడి పెళ్ళికి ఒక సారి పంచ “తొడుక్కున్నాను.” అన్నయ్యగారి అమ్మాయి పెళ్ళికి ఈ సారి కట్టుకున్నాను.

మిత్రుల వాఖ్య: “ముత్యాల ముగ్గులో రావు గోపాలరావులా ఉన్నావు.” అవునా?
